Every research is an endeavor. In Brazil, for instance, there is scarce (sometimes inexistent) governmental financial support for research(ers).In the private sector, it is virtually inexistent. Very often, many Brazilian authors have no alternative but to pay APC charges, congress fees, travel costs, accommodation expenses from their own pockets (including me). Therefore, what is the most reliable research funding you know, to revert this awkward situation, unfortunately, common to many underdeveloped countries?

I will follow your question, because I have the same problem. My problem is maybe even biger, because of the field - management and business administration. All research funds are reserved for medicine, engineering, sustainable energy, etc... conference fees are unfordable according to living standard etc.
Any source of funding is fine as long as you get sufficient funding steadily till the end of your research.

Maybe it would be better if you make a proposal for multi-year research and send it to an international research donor agency, such as CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency), or to EGSLP (ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE AND SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS PROGRAMME) Of course it must be in accordance with the socio-economic dynamics of the people in the country.

I recommend grants from: Erasmus+ programme, National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and The Terra Viva grant Directory.

Regarding funding, each of these sources has its own perspective, standard for funding eligibility and anticipated return on the grant-making investment.

Government funding is always there, but hard to get because of competition. In developed countries it is the private industry and corporations that sponsor research for their own needs. If you can't find any, approach the industry in your specialty and convince them of the usefulness of research. You can even provide examples of the benefits of research.
