I want to know what are the best candidate models that are expected to achieve some success in manipulating the mechanical and thermal and electrical properties of nano composite materials?
What are the difficulties that face the researchers in this field?
If "manipulating" means trying to calculate and then compare with experiments, I have recently done a calculation in which I have applied a 1D Hubbard model to a nano material under strain, and tried to get the behavior as a function of strain.The results were interesting and will be published.
For thermal conductivity there are many models developed in the literature. I am not sure about electrical and mechanical properties. However, I am sure there are allot of data on those area too.
