We have a situation that requires us to have two corresponding authors for our manuscript. Does anyone know any journals or publishers in materials science that accept two corresponding authors.
Whay do you mean by "high impact" ? The situation of 2 corresponding authors is more and more frequent, so more and more journals accept it. If not explicitely written in the Instructions fot Authors, you may directly ask the editor. The journal Carbon for example (IF = 6.20) accepts 2 corresponding authors now, whereas it was not possible a few years ago. What can also be done is having one corresponding authors for receiving the correspondance from the editor during the reviewing process, but still maintaining 2 names with 2 e-mail addresses on the cover page of the manuscript. I did it already. Other journals (from RSC for example) also request the e-mail addresses of all co-authors so that all correspondances are forwarded to everybody, i.e., everybody virtually is a corresponding author.
