We are past the method era. I personally believe while the knowledge of teaching methods is important, the teacher's level of using that knowledge plays a very significant role . The teacher should energize and motivate learners, understand what their real needs are, and help them to acquire the skills they need to function successfully in the real situations .

It depends on the purpose of learning a foreign language. If you want to learn just for a hobby then it is very difficult. But if learning a foreign language confirms your need then there are ways. All the suggestions mentioned above are useful. Compare foreign words with your mother language words and think/memorize those words in every step of your daily life. Make small translation with foreign sentences. Watching movie, making friendship with native one are nice. But don't think about marrying a native girl of desired language which may not match your early stage of marriage life.
