Agreed with the many benefits of virtual training shared by the previous researchers / scholars. Personally to me one of the key benefits is lower down the total cost of ownership in training including:
lower traveling costs
lower labor cost for scarce / key trainer resources that need to conduct the same training many times
video / audio recorded materials for replay / re-use i.e. recorded once & play back multiple times
◾Offers a highly adaptive, effective and continuous learning model that focuses on application, reflection and reinforcement of new knowledge and skills over time
◾ Allows learners to train from the field with minimal disruption to productivity
◾Can include a variety of complementary online tools for disseminating training content and materials in formats that meet a diverse range of learning styles
◾Allows participants to “get their hands dirty” by immediately applying what they learn to the job
Generally, It’s cheaper, highly scalable, and less disruptive to schedules. This model offers the right learning environment for optimal absorption. Besides, it is economically feasible because it offers reductions in training expenses for several line items such as travel expenses, zero out accommodations costs. The lost time costs are reduced significantly. Training materials are online with the hands-on interactivity using digital media. In terms of learning effectiveness, this model offers Instructor-led methodology, Continuous learning environment, Availability to the most remote, offers Instructional viability and vitality.
