I previously prepared TiO2 NPs via aq sol-gel route which were doped with nitrogen from urea and Cu and Cd. However, The gel crystallized very quickly during the drying process @ 100 C. So i am confused to what has happened.
Dear Youssef Essam, N with lone pair of electrons (n-type dopant) when doped, modifies the electronic properties of the substrate. Particularly, it modifies the charge transport properties as well as adsorption/desorption behavior of reactants on substrate and results in optimized redox properties. Shahid Zaman Thank you for sharing with me this useful paper I have more insight now. However, this doesn't answer why my gel crystallized at 100 C before the calcination step, or maybe I just did not understand your answer enough. Is there anything more you can tell me about why it happened?
