What are the benefits of cultural education in higher institutions of learning?
Cultural values represent unique identities for a specific country, communities or groups of people. Benefits of cultural education include (not exhaustive list):
Sensitive to other practices - cultural education especially on other countries, communities etc can widen our horizon so that we are well aware of & respect other cultural value systems rather than thinking our own cultural value system is the best & should be the common norm.
Equip us better how to collaborate with others - knowing other people's do's & don'ts can position us how to work together better especially in international projects / programs that spread across multi countries & in different time zones.
Promote unity or harmony / minimize conflict - cultural education can help students to have better awareness on what they can do, what they shouldn't do, what will be the impacts, how to do it better etc. to maintain harmony or reduce unnecessary conflicts with others.
But we also need to beware not to over do it i.e. using cultural education as a means to "brain wash", assimilate instead of to integrate various cultural values etc.
Because most of the students there are more diverse in terms of religion, culture, scientific level, mental and more mature, Cultural education is therefore very important
It is important to teach culture to our students to cultivate their history of the past and take benefit from the errors done to correct them and move forward. Without culture and history , we can not make any type of progress.

Building of a university student depends on many many factors, not only the pure scientific issue, never, but in association with other parameters like cultural sides, sport, art, increasing self confidence, .. etc. It is exactly similar to a cube with six opposite faces and each particular face complement the other faces and it is impossible to remove or exclude any one but with slight difference in areas! I thing it more convenient to simulate student as multi face geometric locus and one of these faces is the cultural education mentioned in this impressive question.
From cultural education, students learn to reflect upon their own culture, culture of others and culture in general. Cultural education is important because it helps students to learn and to function in a culture which has not one clear identity ready for them. Cultural education should be given from the earliest stage of education for children. However, it is also necessary at higher institutions because cultural factors include different degrees of difficulties to understand.
Contemporary higher education MUST include cultural education and languages. It builds bridges, not walls. This means better understanding, better collaboration, better research culture...
Well Dickson , "Culture" is hard to understand , nope not seen but practices . I guess that is why it needs to be understood. Benefits is to be more open minded and accommodating of others.
Well, I try one way , that is eat all kinds of (vegetarian ) food from Ethiopia (I have friend) to Jordan , not ignore Cheese cake (NewYork )

WHY MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION IS MORE IMPORTANT IN HIGHER EDUCATION NOW THAN EVER: A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE!
Multicultural education is an approach to teaching and learning that is based on democratic values that affirm cultural pluralism within culturally diverse societies in an interdependent world...
Cultural education especially for other cultures in bigger countries help candidates find job as sometimes condition that candidates must have knowledge of customs and dialects of that region must be satisfied. It's useful for country like India where 100 of languages and cultures are there.
Increasingly, man must look to the roots for a holistic view of knowledge to avoid its limitation of action. This inclusion is imperative, since anthropocentrism must be rational and critical.
Thanks for your valuable suggestion that cultural education boosts the chances of job placement in other countries. I am very fascinated by the rich culture of India. I hope to be there one-day :). Best regards
Your great suggestion on the need to look into the roots of the cultural dispositions and critically analyze its imports for societal and national development. Thank you and best regards
