Thanks for asking. Leaf plates are common in India, and earlier used to be hand stitched, but today they are machine made. They do not deplete the natural resources as the leaves are regenerated.

The only problem is disposal after use. Unless properly disposed, they are a hazard as the food leftovers decompose and cause a stench, as compared to reusable plates.

Well Dickson , we have it in India , we use banana leaf and some other 2 or 3 kinds of leaks for cooking and serving and easy to sustain !!!
