please be more precise as to the environment of deposition. Is it perennial or ephemeral lakes? Which facies types are you dealing with? Irrespective of the answers to these questions I would like to direct your view towards argillaceous sediments and chemical/ evaporative sediments at first step.
Thank you sir for reply. the lake is ephemeral lake with shallow depth(max 3m) and the sediment is mostly composed of silt and clay material(quite environment condition). The lake is surrounded by aquaculture ponds, rice mils, tanning industries, sugar factory, paper and chemical industries.i wish to study provenance of sediment and pollution status of entire lake(300 sqkm).
As far as the geogene part of the story is concerned which is fundamental as to elucidate the background values of the element budget I suggest try and inf as much as possible information on clay minerals typical of such saline basins, e.g., smectite- and homrite-group enriched claystones. On the other hand I recommend dealing with the evaporite mineral such as sulfates, borates, bittern salts etc.
I will not embark on an uncertain journey through the sedimentary petrogarphy since I do not know the state of evapotranspiration.
