I'm just starting my PhD and my research project is a comparative study of the solid waste from integrated steel plants especially bottom ash from thermal power stations and also iron slime from iron ore benificiation plants.
Can anybody suggest the possibilities of application of these two types of solid waste?
Cement -concrete system is the best composite where bottom ash can be used. But, as for precaution I would like to say that much work has been reported and published on this type of work. Few of my known have done the work on coal bottom ash. You have to choose good objective with novelty and practical applicability. I wish you good luck for your PhD research project.
Bottom ash is used for filling depressions to level the surface.It is also used in making village roads.After one soaking with water,it becomes quite solid,so as to remain in the same condition. Making bricks is another option.
