XRD cannot be used for elemental analysis but for phase identification of crystalline materials.
AAS is used in better way to analyse elements in your materials quantitatively.
XRD tell that in wat way atoms of given elements are arranged in 3D in your material. While AAS tell that how much atom of each species are present. XRF that is x-ray fluorescence is another technique which is also good for quantitative analysis....
