In most studies gender and/or age are alwalys a statistical significant risk factors. But what are some possible explanations for why gender and age are not a significant risk factor on the outcome variable?
I can think of some basic issues like quality of education, health services, environmental indicators, availability of electricity, housing, roads (connectivity) - wherein age and gender in some societies may not be significant risk factors
What is the risk factor/outcome factor of interest? It should be noted that gender and/or age are more likely to influence outcome variables base on context of the study setting. Also, different dimensions of gender may be associated with outcome variable differently. The key explanation is to look at the context of the study.
