What are the most prominent ongoing debates in the fields of landscape ecology and biodiversity conservation? I can name several, e.g. SLOSS, habitat amount vs habitat configuration. What are other examples? Maybe some latest controversies in the literature?
In the Afro/tropics, land-use change, mainly loss of indigenous forests, as a result, human population growth is a major concern of conservation.
Soil degradation is one major debate concerning biodiversity loss in e.g. my country Iran.
Climate driven shifting of animals along the transboundary landscape is one of the real biggest problems today, which is being debated across continents.
Climate change is one of the upgrowing debates for landscaping. On the other hand continues habitat fragmentation and all four types of pollution threatened the the biodiversity and create imbalanc in landscape ecology. There are also some minor indication as well.
Climate change, Water crisis, Global warming, Static and dynamic scenarios for multi-criteria/multi-objective simulations and Implementation of the sustainable development approaches using the improvement and empowerment of livelihood rural and urban societies.

The role of climate in genetic wealth, the role of man, acclimatization.
There should be no debate at all. Conservation of flora and fauna in a scientific way will enhance the aesthetic beauty of landscape
With growing climate warming, two major aspects have been emerging buoyantly in the on-going global debates- (i) the invasive species, and more importantly is the anthropogenic governs invasion of exotic species, and (ii) habitat fragmentation along the landscapes. Either manifestations have been linked to significant alterations in the ecosystems' functionality, native species rarity and endangerment.
The issue is linked with all climate change issues.
