Even modern literature refers to studies at least 30 years old, when it comes to the minimum temperature at which maize will grow. We have seen so much breeding advancements with maize - changing the crop phenotype drastically compared to grains for example, that I can't help but doubt that the minimum temperature for maize is still 10°, or even 8° C. I have some corroboration on this - but cannot find any modern published literature with, preferrably, field trials. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
