I wonder if you would like to share your findings and/or key authors for that area? And those success factors for start-ups? What business models are most important in your view? I find the "LEAN START UP" by Eric Ries particularly interesting. The book provides some references. Then there is "RUNNING LEAN" by Ash Maurya which is more practice oriented, and has a limited number of case studies.
I would also highly recommend a paper by Demil and Lecocq on business model evolution.
