Dear Researchers,
I would like to know your thoughts on what you consider as the "burning questions"in the field of Organizational Behaviour today but you feel current books of OB do not focus on it. What are the new things you would like to see in a good book of OB and wants MBA students to must read it. I will be thankful if you can share some of the topics and issues with relevant references if feasible.

My concern is that OB books are full of old, untested or invalid theories. OB needs to be more empirically grounded. For example, many motivational theories are out of place, but still used as tools (such as Maslow's). Then, there is replication crisis and so on. OB needs to harness the potential of analytics and data science, because companies are developing their own theories and formulas for OB concepts. What is in the "books" will need to be a lot more valid and reliable.
I would suggest discussing the organizational learning and its effect on organizational behavior. Organizational learning refers to the process of creating, retaining, and transferring knowledge within an organization. Any organization improves as it gains experience, and from that experience, it is able to create knowledge.
I think I would vote for organizational culture since due to globalization, shift of generations, technology, etc. organizations need to really adapt but also differ in order to successfully target talent and maintain market share. For me, OB make sense only if strategically put on the crossroad between strategy, markets, talents, leadership - helping managers make sense of the world.
OB is not my area so read my suggestion with caution. I find it very strange that top management is not rewarded or punished for failing to implement organisational strategy. Is this a example of dysfunctional OB?
I agree with Mirna, culture will take care of everything including use of technology. If one need to put right culture in place, leader's mind set determine the type. It is a long drawn process.
Culture is root cause of conflict or low/ high productitivity, creativity, risk taking, inward looking or outward looking (strategy), emphasis on training, positivity or toxicity. Most of the leader attack symptoms because of lack of resources(time) or need for quickfix/ satisficing tendency. Hardly organization leadership has time to change culture.

1. Impact of the vuca world on our psyche and our basic human needs and hence on our organizational behavior.
2. Change towards purpose driven organizations and its impact on our organizational behavior.

The OB books must cover the impact of social media on OB and how efficiently have organizations being able to alter their social media policy in recent times.
People in the organizations tend to behave in accordance with the perceived usefulness of the current information technology employed the organizations since the right choice of the technology tend to direct the employees accordingly.
