It is widely known that strenuous physical activities, especially those involving muscle lengthening, may induce microtraumas on muscle fibers, but are there any other ways to generate such type of microtraumas on muscle fibers? A quick look on the web showed that deep tissue massaging can cause some muscle damage. However, I wonder whether this damage from deep tissue massage could be considered a similar damage when compared to those from eccentric actions. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
