We haven't made a sensory analysis in the irradiated green tea, but our impression is that the irradiation did not affect the flavor of the tea. Prof. Villavicencio has been working in this line now, and other aspects (antioxidant capacity, phenolic compouds, etc).

Sorry, I have no specific experience with green tea, but any food with no fat (or with very low fat level) and dry does not suffer change in its flavor when irradiated with doses of 10 kGy or higher. Sometimes the flavor is increased; spices and medicinal herbs are a good example.
Fat food as chocolate or milk develops bad taste after irradiation in any dose.
