I am trying to do intraocular injections of WGA-Alexa dyes to get labeling into the visual cortex. The first round I had no staining. I realize its not a sure fire method, but does anyone have a protocol or recommendations for this technique? Most importantly, what concentration of WGA-Alexa are you using for the injections?

I realize this may be more than a bit late, but I just saw your question. I had the same issue after doing the intraocular injections-everything looked fine in the SC and LGN, but V1 appeared unlabeled using low mag. But-if you use high mag on a confocal and colabel with VGlut2, you will detect the terminals labeled with WGA, they just do not look equally dense and intensely labeled as the ones in LGN. The dye is not nearly as intense as CTB, but it does cross the TC synapses. You can increase intensity by injecting higher concentrated WGA (5-10 mg/mL) and leaving the animals surviving longer after injections (I leave mine for about a week, from P21-P28).
