I am running a simulation to plot the wetting envelope for a solid surface whose surface properties we would be modifying later on with coatings. I have calculated the surface energy of the solid with Polar and Dispersive components. When I simulate the reverse relation by manipulating the contact angle, I calculate the Polar variable of liquid in terms of the Dispersive variable and then I obtain two symbolic solutions. When I choose a vector of values for Dispersive variable (e.g. D=[0:10:100]*1e-3) then I get imaginary and negative values for Polar variable. I am not able to understand which solution to take and which to neglect?
