Thank you, Dr Melfi Alrasheedi , for the list. It shows the big publishers are impacted as well.
I think you are right that this is just the beginning. WoS is getting more and more journals. In 2017, there were 12000 journals included, as discussed on wikipedia, Now currently, there are 33000. I can understand they want to cut/reduce; in fact, I expect they will cut more!
The correct interpretation of the MDPI announcement is not that the list is fake, but the website that mentions it (they use the list without a proper mentioning of the source) is fake https://predatoryreports.org/news/f/web-of-science-de-listed-82-journal-including-15-from-hindawi (see for more reasons why the predatoryreports website is fake my reply of March 14th here https://www.researchgate.net/post/What_is_your_opinion_about_this_reporthttps_predatoryreportsorg_news_f_list-of-all-mdpi-predatory-publicationsfbclidIwAR2FbGSY4Dktl4X8GWkcfgAuB ). This fake website contains numerous errors. 82 titles are delisted in the real list and not 50 and mysteriously enough they ‘forgot’ to mention that also two titles from Elsevier are delisted…
A way more reliable website that explains the whole story can be read here https://retractionwatch.com/2023/03/21/nearly-20-hindawi-journals-delisted-from-leading-index-amid-concerns-of-papermill-activity/#more-126734 and for the corrected and updated list see link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AiUI0qf4SqXzn8OXy6HZtma3Z8sLgJIBtgAcv6D5mK0/edit#gid=0 (or enclosed pdf file).
Muhammad Daniyal as you can see in the correct enclosed file not only ESCI indexed journals but also SCIE (AND SSCI) indexed journals have been delisted.
