Hi everybody,

We recently plan to buy a LC-MS for large-scale metabolism in plant, e.g. citrus, tomato. The basic flowchart is identification of metabolites using  QTOF (Agilent 6420B in our college, and Waters QTOF in other college, has already bought) based on construction of MSMS library, and then qualification of metabolites using triple quadrupole system which we plan to purchase.  Now we have two choices, one is Waters UPLC plus AB QTrap 6500, the other is Waters UPLC UPC2 Xevo TQ-S. The former is very outstanding equipment for metabolites qualification. However, according to the statements from Waters company, they said "we have better MSMS database (is updated in real-time) for searching, especially for natural product compared with Agilent and AB company". You might know the database is very very important for large scale metabolism because manually spectrum analysis is time-consuming and technological. I don't know which equipment is more suitable for me. Please give your kindly hand to help me out. Thanks.
