Given the fact that one may apply particular vehicle input rate to specific road (let's say 4-lane freeway), is it possible to change this rate as per each lane? In this case we will get dense and sparse lanes on the same road.

If you know the traffic flow rate (veh/ hr) and some factors, you can calculate density. In Vissim, I try to use it, it is useful for Motorcycles to taken into conderation.

No way to enter the flow rate on lane bases in VISSIM. However you may try to built 4 parallel highways with one lane each and metge these at a 4 lane freeway using links.

The inbound and outbound flow rate are taken in to consideration. Especially, Motorcycle Volumes can be applied by the Space Oriented Design.
