Dear members,
As we all are aware, BKC is very common preservative used in various opthalmic dosage foms.
I want to know, some basic information with respect to BKC. As it has 4 homologs, and some orgnisations report its C12 major componant and some C12 and C14 addition. Some times we observe variation in the assay results and these are not reproducible. So what are the probabale reasons for the same.
In addition I also want to know are these homologs are interconvertible in to each other ?
If yes, is there any literature availble for the same.
Kindly share your valuable comments and experiences in this context.
Thanks.
