Is the higher incidence of upper extremity CRPS over lower extremity CRPS due to a greater number of autonomic nerves fibers in the UE, or due to some other anatomical/physiological factor?
I have seen a CRPS patient affected from left to right body side than what you have perhaps seen or known - upper versus lower extremity.
Regardless, I still note that the autonomic nerves fibers either in the UE or right body side is somewhat related to anatomical / physiological factor.
Having said that, the patient experiences the transfer of cold from left to right body side especially during cold weather. Surprisingly, the three colour synonymous to CRPS i.e. pallor, blue and red are also transferred including the hypersensitivity factors.
Try checking the CRPS patients if similar situation arise. If so, then you could determine if is due to your interpretation or confirmation of what I have seen personally.
