Hello,
I made cyclic voltammetry analysis of Pt/C sample for taking reference to my materials in oxygen reduction reaction. However, I found electron transfer number around 6 which is impossible to have. I am not sure what caused to this unexpected value. What could be the reason for this situation? On the other hand, glassy carbon electrode gave 1.92. I think my formulation and constants are correct. Which parameters should I reevaluate?

One possible reason could be that the (actual) geometrical surface area (Ageom) of your Pt/C catalyst (deposited ink) is larger than the calculated Ageom of the GC electrode, if you are depositing Pt/C ink on GC electrode. This gives you high value of the current density than the theoretical, and thus high value of electron transfer. It is important to follow the recommended protocol for the preparation of the catalyst suspension and coating the GC surface.

Thank you for your answer. I made analysis again with correct active geometric area. After ink dried, I took a photo and measure radius on computer. Now, my Pt/C result is 4.02 and it is acceptable. However, you mentioned "recommended protocol". Can you give me source of this "recommended protocol"? I really don't want to make mistakes.
