for plants under stress, i was able to read few articles, high rate of photosynthesis doesn't necessarily result in high rate of growth. hence, i read using "A" to select stress tolerant variety/ecotype may not be always right. so, i am asking how come? how come the more assimilating ecotypes could be the less resistant/ select-able especially when respiration is not to blame?
