Transwell invation assay?

Hi can some one help me with transwell invation assay.

I am using BME to coat my inserts. I use 1:1 diluton of BME and coat 70ul on the membrane. Then I incubate for 1 hour at 37 degrees. AFter this step do we have to remove the liquid part remaining on the membrane or directly add the cells on top?
