Dear All

I am trying to simulate a problem that simplified as shown in the attached file. It has two different walls one inside the other and surrounded by air. I want to simulate the problem in transient mode analysis because I am interested in the temperature change with time. I am using Ansys for that.

Questions:

1- I guess I need the coefficient of convective heat transfer (h) and since it is transient that means I need to run a fluent case to have "h" as a function of time or in other words I need the local "h" that vary with time then I should import to the solid model to simulate the heat transfer. I wonder if what I say makes sense and if so do I need to couple the fluent and the solid models (using fluid-solid interaction)

2- since I am familiar with fluent and know I need to make an interface- do I need an interface between the two walls which have different thermal conductivity when I am calculating the heat transfer in the solid walls.

Please any suggestions will be helpful and if any tutorials that will be great.

Thank you!

Aziz
