All people face lockdown around the World as a result of which regular teaching learning process effected. To overcome this all are using e-learning/ICT based learning, so my question is that how it is helpful in your prospective.
E-learning has been used to keep the students busy at this time. Though, traditional learning cannot be jettisoned, e-learning is important to ensure that all that has been learnt is not lost.
There have already been forms of teaching and learning which deviated from "regular teaching and learning processes", e.g. in distance learning. E-learning and ICT-based learning offer new and different possibilities for the organisation, structure, input and assessment of learning at all levels. Here lies a great chance for forms of blended learning. However, teachers/instructors and learners are dependent on (digital) equipment. This makes teaching and learning also a question of cost. As a result, equal opportunities are currently suffering. If everyone is to benefit from blended learning in the future, a solution to this problem has to be found.
Traditional learning can't be 100 % replaced by E-learning and vice versa. However, the important factor to look at is the type of program you are teaching like undergraduate or postgraduate.
If undergraduate or schoolkids they need explanation and also teachers need to observe heir behavioral response to the materials taught. It is especially true for skill-based programs. Not all students are expressive online. How do we identify the difficulties of the shy ones?
If PG courses with coursework or fully research-based then may the ratio of traditional face to face to E-learning (blended learning) may be adjusted to minimize the traditional classes.
In conclusion, it depends upon the level of programs and type of industry the students are getting ready for practice.
Online classes are not as effective as the traditional classroom teaching for most students, they are commonly not as compelling as face to face classes, yet they are certainly better than no classes.
At this moment, virtual courses are permitting students to get to exercises and practices and connect with instructors in manners that would have been inconceivable if the current pandemic had shut schools 10 years ago.
So, we might be doubtful of online learning, however it is likewise time to embrace and improve it.
Both are beneficial. The world is changing, and we should embrace dynamism. Choosing between the two is nonsense because no particular modality fits all. Again, it depends on the kind of students that we have, the availability of resources, our competencies, and the context wherein choosing between them is an option.
While e-learning cannot completely replace traditional face-to-face learning, I feel that e-learning will be provided more emphasis else where given the current trend. I have personally experienced that e-learning empowers teachers to provide personalised learning experiences with greater accessibility and flexibility to students.
Hi, for me with this lock down and disease pandemic, is time for student to learn / face to be own responsible and interest on adult learning, all the while teachers are trying very hard to get rid of 'spoon feed model'. now is the time for 'New norm' and transform the learning style to be good i guess. But teacher still guiding and act as pushing factors.
E-learning is meant to complement teaching and learning. However, this concept is gradually moving to be we need to have blended learning, or more of online and e-learning like CAL, and online learning. I think these dynamics are essential.
I should say both methods should be applied for teaching and learning. These two can support each other for a better learning environment for learners.

Gulbir Singh E-learning can be a great way of implementation of the curriculum if we know how to use it effectively, and engage the students. It should not be used just as a way to deliver what we are unable to do on face-to-face because of COVID-19 and social isolation. A teacher should be able to reshape his/her session in a way that matches students' need, the learning objectives and the technology used.
In my opinion, there is no substitute for traditional learning. During this lockdown period e-learning is necessary but cannot replace traditional learning in future due to the following reasons.
1. E-learning depends on internet connectivity which is not available in remote villages
2. Children need social, emotional attachment to be active learners
3. Face to face contact forms the bonding between teacher and children
4. Peer learning cannot happen
5. Appropriate teaching learning materials can not be used to enhance the competencies of children
6. No physical activity can take place which is necessary.
Distance education became very necessary during the pandemic period. Although it provides equal opportunities in education, students and teachers have many problems. For example, technical problems (internet, pc etc.). In addition, class participation rates can be quite low.
I think traditional learning is the best way, but we need to be in XXI century. I recommend using combined learning based on both, often e-learning is interesting, but it cannot be a substitute. The teacher-student relationship can change, grow, but never be extinguished.
Exchanging looks and conversations between them are essential for the continuous learning of both.
Let's take the discussion beyond traditional words and get to the matter.. There is hardly any definable "traditional learning" nor "e-learning" Possibly it is more meaningful to talk about teaching of both kinds, traditional -which is a moving target- and technology-enabled - which is also developing constantly and in part really is the same as "traditional" - only a question of faster adoption. University teachers in early medieval times were often against the novelty with printed books accessible for students, and also did not like too detailed note-taking at lectures (!).
Learning is learning - a student thing that we do not exactly know how it works. It is not a plain reflection of teaching given, that is for sure. Oliver and Trigwell (2005) write that the word learning should hastily be given back to the students.
For any situation in history, a teacher should reasonably choose and use the available technical means to teach as best as he or she can, in a way that can include all kinds of students that need this teaching.
A classroom is also an information-regulating-transmission ICT, as is writing, printed books, TV, video and all the way into today's fantastic Internet-enabled information transmission. Still, this is all only on the old track - ICT that decreases information friction. Next step is the use of more characteristic digital technology; ICTs as adaptive learning and learning analytics, AI.kind of ICTs that can help teachers and students with information processing.
Traditional learning is always acceptable. Under the present situation E-learning playing important role. But the combination of both traditional learning and E-learning will surely give best results.
