I am bit confused with the concept of Paired-samples t-test. Could some one explain clearly your understanding of Paired-samples t-test?

Does a paired-samples mean one to one matching of the data between pre-and post tests or is it just the pre- and post- data from the same group taken for the comparison of the mean difference?
