Top- & Bottom-Water troubles in an oil field:

How easy will it be – for a casing to be cemented - before drilling into an oil sand, where there is a necessity that the ‘water from above’ should be avoided?

How efficiently, will we be able to shut-off the top-water, when oil-sands contain (a) only oil; and (b) both oil and water? How easy is it – to locate the bottom-water?

What will happen, if we fail to curtail - the water from ‘outside of an oil field’ (water release from wells, beyond the pool)?

Will it be a bad idea - to wash out a well – randomly, at a particular point – in order to determine the formation – in the absence of using a heavy mud?

Can the trouble of water in a typical oil and gas field can be eliminated just by - properly setting the casings in the right place - with proper cementation upon requirement (so that the inadvertent communication of different water-sands with the oil-sand – either from the top or from the bottom – can be avoided)?
