I am new to transparently inductive research, coming from a much more quantitative background. Really trying to do it as thoroughly as possible as I can see it's often done badly! But there's a lot to learn.
If you are conducting an exploratory, inductive study and you don't know what you will find, of course there will be other studies that led you to your current question but to what extend to you need an extensive literature review?
You can't entirely know what is relevant to put in the lit review if you don't know what your findings will be yet?
In quantitative research you shouldn't go back and change / rewrite your introduction once you have results (because of p-hacking, harking etc). Is this also true in inductive qualitative research? Or could you go back and change/add to etc your literature review once you know what is relevant to the results?
Many thanks for any advice.
