Hi Tichaona, check out the book on mixed methods research designs by Creswell and Plano (2007) if you can access it. To my knowledge, mixed-methods research (MMR) is a systematic way of using the strengths of either quantitative or qualitative methods to address the weaknesses of the other. They should be employed within the same study sequentially or concurrently in a planned, systematic way to address your research question(s).
