For corrosion process, different electrical equivalent circuit models have been proposed depending on the solution chemical composition. Main electrical elements which we consider in these electrical circuits are the resistors, capacitors and inductors.
One of the ways to decrease the corrosion and control its rate, is to inject film forming corrosion inhibitors into the corrosive solution. This kind of inhibitors are able to form a very thin layer on the surface of the metal and repel water molecules and decrease the corrosion rate.
So, the question is what changes are required to make on the capacitors and inductors in electrical equivalent circuits in order to decrease the corrosion rate ?
