I have a modelled continuous climate dataset. In some places, I distrust it based on incredibly low values (and sometimes negatives for mean annual precipitation). I do, however, have some snapshots from arguably better and more complex climate simulations (but not continuous). I would like to use these snapshots as tie-points to adjust the continuous record, I.e., continuous climate record at 21 ka says 9 mm yr, snapshot says 301 mm yr. I have quite a few of these snapshots, so a simple correction of +292 would not suffice. I have created a linear-model between continuous (x) and snapshots (y) and have some slightly more realistic values, but interested to see if there is anything more appropriate and if I could use both the x (age) and y (climate variable) of the snapshots as ties.
