Hi,

I am looking to purchase a homogenizer for frozen lung biopsy samples that will undergo RNA extraction. I have been comparing handheld vs bead mill homogenizers. From what I've found so far, the bead mill that is the most economical and comes with the best warranty is the VWR Mini-Bead Homogenizer 4-Place. I was wondering if anyone had any experience using this product or would recommend it? Bead mill homogenizers are obviously a little more pricey then the handheld ones, though the lack of cross contamination, little/no cleaning between, and the ability to process more than one sample at a time are major benefits. To those that have used both, do these benefits outweigh the cost difference?

Thanks,

Sommer
