In almost all countries in general,and in developing countries in particular.there is an urgent need to restructure the commerce syllabi being taught in various educational boards/universities.The world has changed very fast due to various technological innovations in the field of commerce/business/management.In the changed scenario, various concepts/themes/topics have become irrelevant,whereas at the same time,various new techniques terms e.g.Bleckchain,Data Analytics,Big Data,Machine Learning,Artificial Intelligence, and their role in commerce and related disciplines is very significant.It must be learned, understood,appreciated and taught in a very effective way.What are your opinions in this regard.
I think there is no urgent need to restructure commerce education and we need to aligning output with labour market.
Indeed, the current digital age requires providing students with information on the topics of e-commerce, e-payment, e-learning, and the mechanism for dealing with technology

I am curious as to why you think there is no need to restructure commerce (or business) education in the face of increasing use of variations of AI/ML (artificial intelligence and machine learning), robotics of all kinds, etc.
As a technologist and someone with real-world experience of working in AI/ML ( artificial intelligence/machine learning), I am absolutely convinced that not only business and commerce courses need a good grounding in technology but all disciplines; some universities in the West, educating and training doctors are exposing medical students to AI and robotics; surgeons have been relying on robotic arms to achieve precision in incisions, and keeping surgical wounds much smaller than before. Lawyers and accountants can be more productive by using technologies as also those involved in marketing, operations and logistics. Even newspapers are using AI to compile (true not fake) stories for news pages. Let us not forget AI can also produce fake news.
You mention labour market... I can tell you that many jobs in the West are disappearing due to AI/ML. I know of companies developing farming robots to sow, water and harvest in farms. In one of my earlier jobs, I toyed with and proposed robotic vacuum-cleaners, robotic chefs. Today they have become visible realities... think of Roomba (robotic vacuum-cleaners), Moley ( robotic chef), etc.
Finally as a nod to Mr Bansal, who posed the question in the first place, I draw attention to Zimplistic's Rotimatic invented by, I believe, two of your compatriots, Rishi Israni and Pranoti Nagarkar... they are making lives of Indian women, already often demanding and difficult in a patriarchy, a shade better, almost everyday. The machine makes roti, a flatbread slightly flatter than the Greek pita bread or the Indian/Pakistani naan.
I do agree that whether its necessary or not you could easily restructure commerce education. I did this with my children when they were toddlers and today they are known genius'. Simplification is the key from a very young age. Also what I've experienced when teaching special education is that learning simplified analytics in their head shouldn't require showing how they determined the answers. It should be restructured to apply in todays technological era, yet keeping the simplified basics as a foundation.

A review of the curriculum is a dynamic process. The curriculum needs to be reviewed at an interval of 4-5 years. The outcome of an academic program in the year 2020 could not be the same as that of in 2010.
