Theorically how is it possible to select the most economical combination of mix ratio for a concrete (e.g. 5000 Psi)? Is there any procedure?
There are several procedures for determining the most economical mix design and may are in the form of computer programs and spreadsheets. Some take into account the costs of the various materials. For use on the job, you will have to trial the mix to check out bleed, slump, stiffening time, setting time and propensity to segregate.

Ya, there r indeed Mix design procedures, but those do not consider economic side. For example, for 5000 psi concrete you can have different mix ratios but to have the most economic combination u need to calculate manually....... Can any one add more regarding this?
