This paper focuses on the impact of the duty cycle mode in low-power GNSS chipset on the carrier phase observations. The equivalence of duty cycle mode in power management and intermittent signal processing is first discussed. Then, three methods of analyzing the characteristics of intermittent carrier phase measurements are summarized, and the duty-cycle tracking model is proposed on the basis of continuous tracking model. Subsequently, the underlying causes of continuous loss of cycles in duty cycle mode are described in detail. The following part proposes a carrier reconstruction algorithm based on Doppler resampling and gives several evaluation criteria for reconstruction performance. The experimental results show that the reconstructed carrier measurements improve the accuracy of both the estimations of integer ambiguities and the static solutions, avoiding the error accumulation caused by the raw carrier phase observations. This work systematically discusses the feasibility of reconstructing intermittent carrier phase measurements, which is important for achieving high precision based on low-cost mobile devices.
