I am doing research studying the combined effect of two extracts for inhibiting foam cells, not for cancer therapy. Can I use the CompuSyn to investigate the extract interaction whether in addition or synergistic or antagonism. Since the cell we use is not targeted to be killed because macrophage is a normal cell and doing a physiological function to keep the homeostasis.
Can we use the reverse analogism of using CompuSyn in this case?
from the viability test using wst-1, I could not get the ic50 since the viability result was above 50%. I have read in the research gate forum that we can use compuSyn without got the ic50. And at the other side, comppuSyn can predict the IC50 value. am I right?
Here my CompuSyn report:
ComboED50 for combined 2 extracts was 0.29339,
and below the report, it was written: dose extract 1: 869.186 extract 2 869.186
did my interpretation correct that 869.186 was the ED50 of extract 1 and 2?
Yes, you can use the small and lovely Compusyn software.
The Dm number is the same as your IC50.
also X-int = Log(Dm)
