The SEM image for PbTe films is shown that the plumbonacrite surface (Fig) is composed of round leaves, like wafers, with a size of several microns and very small thickness. Can I find an answer , why and how?

I don't know if you did some TEM characterization of the nanosheets. It may be single-crystalline or bi-crystalline. So the growth mechanisms are different, i.e., metal atoms diffusion through surface diffusion or boundary diffusion. I did some research about this but based on the CuO nanowire system. I think the following paper may give you some ideas. Thanks.

For hexagonal structures reaction rate is higher in lateral dimensions where are plenty of dangling bonds. Growth rate in direction perpendicular to hexagonal plate is limited due to weaker interaction with incoming reagents. Would you make XRD(or electron diffraction@ with TEM) analysis it may confirm crystal structure.
