i have a sma wire i am supplying 5v as input to the wire and the temperature rise in the wire i want to check using ansys electrical. The SMA wire is covered with PDMS matrix.

The problem i am facing is the temperature of wire rises so much and electric voltage also rises in the solution which is not correct as voltage has to be maximum 5v that i input.

The heat transfer coefficient is 18W/m^2K and resistivity of wire is 2e-7ohm-mm. The diameter of the wire is 1mm and length of the wire is 80mm in spiral form.

The thermal conductivity of the nitinol i took is 18W/mK.

Can anyone tell.

In actual case when i connect sma wire to 9v dc supply it deflect and reachas to a temperature of 90C only
