There are many problems may exist with compressors, combustors, transition pieces, blades and vanes during the design and operation of gas turbines, combined cycle plants.
Important problems in sequence are;
Environmental Nox combustors( majority of problems observed in combustor cans and transition pieces),higher degradation rate, life of a nozzle and blade(blade resonance problems-reducing life), tip rubs are also quite major problems in the compressor section(shroud blocks of the turbine),feed water pumps(failure brings cost issue of entire plant), excessive heat, excessive waste and strut failure, condensers etc.
