It is true that the use of pesticides indiscriminately, i.e., at doses or applications more than recommended, or application at the wrong times or places, can cause toxicity to humans and other animals and even plants. Some pesticides also have carcinogenic effects. However, it is not true that all pesticides cause cancer, nor are all kinds of cancers due to pesticides. There are many kinds of rigorous Biosafety testing protocols followed before approving a pesticide, or for that matter even any medicine, before these are registered by the public. Good sets of instructions are given for the amount and method of use and safety. Ignoring these instructions can have harmful effects.
It is similar to saying that driving a motorcycle, car, bus, train .....or flying aeroplanes cause accidents resulting in grievous injuries and deaths .... do we stop using them???
When it's other people's lives at risk, most of the time we don't care. If the problem were only for those who use pesticides, but it is society that is being harmed, no one can prove it, as the use of pesticides is beneficial and generates high income.
