As fog in plain land with environment of relatively high temperature prevailing in day time and low temperature in night in the area causing death of sunflower plants almost in few days depending on stage of crop with acute damage during flowering and it is not alone disease the prime factor.
First thing is let me tell you it is due to temperature inversion effect where in the presence of dust particles, pollens and presence of water content I. e. Moisture is maximum near the crop height. This allows the pests and diseases to effect the crop actively. So to avoid the effect what we need to do is to bring a change in crop microclimatic condition. It could be done by providing irrigation at important phases which is prone to diseases and pests. Because providing irrigation acts as a catalyst in maintaining the crop temp to the environmental temp. This may help you I hope sir.. You can cover the plants at night by using plastic (big role) and elevation after day height

Relation between bacteria Psedomonas Syringae (a plant pathogen), formation of Fog ( meant for dispersion by the said bacteria) means ice crystal formation (to damage the plant tissues) at relatively at higher temp. due to INA protein produced by the said bacteria to be investigated.
