The diesel price hike, is it justified? Will it give any solution to oil management?

Many feel diesel is being consumed by well off people and all higher end cars use diesel. The rich enjoy more than the poor and subsidies are not justified. The reckless usage poses problems in oil imports and oil management. So why should the price no increase?
