Different authors have different approaches to assessing the corrosion rate of magnesium using electrochemical methods, using the standards ASTM G59-97 (2020), ASTM G102-89, obtaining Rp values from the EIS, etc. I would like to hear your opinion on this matter. Which is ultimately correct or can you suggest your version.
The standard for corrosion varies depending on the type of test you wish to perform and which Organization standards you are adhering to. The testing media is critical as it determines the application of the alloy.
Also, Rp which is the polarization resistance, can also be determined from Potentiodynamic Polarization.

Just an added info For Your consideration for any applications.
Pls keeping track your sample ( Mg-alloy ) in terms of their total chemistry compositions.
Before perform any selected technique on measuring the
corrosion rate w. r. t. any designed conditions.
Even samples were cut out from a single coupon, that could shown deviation on its chemistry composition, which may lead to some confusion of the results.
