Bismuth can be deposited on the electrode surface simply by immersing the electrode tip in a solution containing the metal species. Some research groups suggested that metal adatoms become neutral after the process. Does anybody have a journal that talks about the electrons intake because electrons have to come from somewhere in order to have a neutral species. I used 10 mM Bismuth (iii) oxide in 0.6 M HClO4 at room temperature. I used 25 micron diameter Pt electrode. I immersed the electrode for 1 minute as suggested by Clavilier et al.
