I have been working in the field of sequence analysis (mainly bioinformatics) for the last 5 years. I have seen numerous experimental scientists who do their regular work but never include Bioinformatics or Statistics in their normal research activities, except BLAST or primer designing etc. One of the main reason may be that since biologists are not comfortable with Equations, Algorithms (i.e Bioinformatics tools n tech), they prefer avoiding it in their activities. Other reason may be that bioinformaticians haven't made this field user friendly- only flooded it with lots of mathematical equations, Algorithms etc. I want experimental researchers to tell where they feel that Bioinformatics may be a very good for their research but they r unable to adopt it for "SOME" reason. I think it would help both the Biologists as well as Bioinformaticians to work for each other and make the research more interesting.......that's what i think. What's your opinions ?
